How to create or edit a custom Team Radar
It’s time to bring your creativity to life! Let’s create your first personalized Team Radar in just a few minutes.
Create your first custom Team Radar in 5 simple steps
As a reminder, as stated in the Neatro User Roles documentation, only users with either the Administrator or Facilitator role can create a custom Team Radar.
From the Team Radar Templates home page: https://app.neatro.io/team-radar-templates
Click Create template at the top-right corner of the screen.
You will land on the creation page of your Radar. It may look quite empty for now — so let’s get started!

Follow the steps below to complete your custom Team Radar.
To illustrate this article with a concrete example, let’s imagine you want to build a custom Team Radar to help your team assess how it can improve collaboration — within the team, with other teams in the company, and with stakeholders.
1/ Give your Radar a title and description
First, give your Radar a title. This will be the name of your custom Team Radar template. You can change it at any time.
Then, briefly describe what this Team Radar is about. This description will be visible to anyone invited to complete the Radar. You can update it at any time as well.

2/ Add your first dimension
Click Add dimension.
![]()
You can now create your first dimension. A preview of the related question will appear on the right side of the screen.

Click Select or create a new topic.
A list of topics will appear. If you haven’t created any custom topics yet, you will only see the default Neatro topics.
You can select either a custom topic or a Neatro topic to build your first Radar dimension.

Returning to our example: we want to explore collaboration within the team, with other teams, and with stakeholders.
Although the Neatro topic called Collaboration seems appropriate, it does not allow us to drill down into those three specific subtopics.
Click Create topic to add your own topic.
Enter Collaboration with Stakeholders and choose a color. Let’s say blue.

You now have your first custom topic. Click Collaboration with Stakeholders to add it as your first Team Radar dimension.

Add a short description to help your teammates better understand what you mean by Collaboration with Stakeholders.

Once you’re done, the description will automatically appear in the question preview.

Your first Team Radar dimension is complete.
3/ Add additional dimensions
Now that you know how to add a dimension, repeat the same process for your remaining dimensions.
Keep in mind that you can include up to 10 dimensions in a single Team Radar.
In our example, we’ve created three dimensions:
-
Collaboration with Stakeholders
-
Collaboration within the Team
-
Collaboration with Other Teams

4/ Reorder your dimensions
Have you noticed the number displayed next to each dimension? This represents the order in which the questions will appear in the Team Radar survey.
In our example, the survey would initially appear in this order:
1/ Collaboration with Stakeholders
2/ Collaboration within the Team
3/ Collaboration with Other Teams
This may not be ideal. We might prefer to start with collaboration within the team, then with other teams, and finally with stakeholders.
To reorder your dimensions, click the up and down arrows located at the top-left corner of each dimension.

Now the question order makes more sense:
1/ Collaboration within the Team
2/ Collaboration with Other Teams
3/ Collaboration with Stakeholders
Your teammates will now complete the survey in a logical sequence.

5/ Save your template
Click the Save template button.

Nice job! You’ve just created your first custom Team Radar template.
Edit a custom Team Radar
As an Administrator or Facilitator, go to the Team Radar Templates page: https://app.neatro.io/team-radar-templates
Locate the template you want to edit.
Click the three-dot button on the right side of the template and select Edit.

You can now modify your custom template.

Important note: Any updates you make will not affect previous Team Radars that were already shared with your team.
For example, imagine you previously shared your Collaboration Radar with your team. Later, you decide to add a fourth dimension to the template and save your changes.
Your update will apply only to future Team Radars created from this template. The previously shared version will remain unchanged.
